A Thursday Next Novel

This is a new kind of fantasy or is it SF.  Thursday Next is form the “real” world and works in the “Book” world.  It’s is a good  a good mystery as well as a good fantasy and its different.  I look forward to reading other books in the series. I won’t say a lot about the book, so that you can have the same fun I did in reading it.  Many of the charters in the story are from other works of fiction - and they let you know what books they are from.  This is a lot of fun and a good read.  And if you are a fan of all kinds of books and have read a lot of classic stories you will find even more delight in the reading of the Thursday Next novels. Since I reviewed this one I’ve read several others and they are all very good and very claver in the use of other works of fiction.  You can go from one book to another in these story and into the “REAL” world - which you realize after a while isn’t our world either.

Since writing the above review I have read several more in the series.  When I first read it, I was leaning towards it being fantasy, but as I got into more books it seemed more of SF mystery - with the “Earth” and “Books” being other dimensions. The stories are different and a little bit on the strange side, almost like Jasper Fforde created a new genre.

The Eyre Affair is the first book in the series. So if you want to read them in order start with it.
