Star Wars the Sequel Trilogy

This brings us to the nine movies Lucas said would be in the Star Wars series. But…. When he though their was no chance of it, the bible used by the book writers to keep thing together was made. Han and Leia had twins..And Luke had a child! The final trilogy changed these books to from Star Wars Cannon to Star Wars Myths. What a shame…I know more fans that just I were disappointed with this. There were a lot of books and comics that are no longer part of the Star Wars Universe ..I am surprised that Disney allowed it - since the MCU is so is all about being true to Cannon, but when you own it, you can change what's cannon.

Flicking around the Internet is talk of redoing them, but would they do them like the books - and what would these three be considered?  With the Star Wars Disney + shows being so true to Star Wars, it just doesn’t make sense what they did. With that being said the movies were fun.

Felt like a film you waited for ever to see. I enjoyed it. I liked Rey. Like all Star Wars movies it was a ride… finding out that they had Lucas ideas for the films and didn’t use them, ticks me off. This may be why this feels like a book you are reading in a series in which the creator has pass away and another writer has taken over and is leaving a lot of things out that should have been there. The fact that another Star Wars Universe exists in books, that are better than the movies is sad. Like I said, I liked the movie, but it felt more like the beginning of something New instead of the end of a wonderful saga.

Star Wars: Episode VIII - The Last Jedi

Again, a good film, but still doesn’t feel like the next to last episode - still feel like a new saga, and a problem is A new writer. They had Lucas story notes - but had to change things. Sigh. Again we are on a ride. But in this new age of viewing - only saw it in the movies once, as I did with last one. Now I do have a 4K copy and have watched several times.

Star Wars: Episode IX - The Rise of Skywalker

The long 42 year wait - the end of  the Star Wars Saga….Again, a good movie - but this doesn’t feel like the end of a saga, but the beginning of a new one. Anthony Daniels is in all nine movies!!!!… Like all Star Wars - it was a ride. I do feel the compete final trilogy treated Luke unfairly. He is the last Jedi Master and he leaves a newly trained Jedi Knight - as the last Jedi….sounds a lot like Return of the Jedi. And the last thing Rey says at the end of the movie - SCREAMS TO BE CONTINUED…  With Disney + we may see it continue there. As much as I don’t care for the final trilogy as being the end of the Star Wars Saga - it gave us some interesting new people. I like Rey and would like to see more of her.
